You always hear this from your dentist of what cause cavity and how you lose your white enamel. The habit of having coffee daily, bad eating habits, smoking, etc. may take away your million dollar smile. One remedy to get the pearly whites back is to apply coconut oil around your mouth. Not comfortable with it? You do not necessarily need to do it.
There are many other simple things that will help get back your white shine that you may have never even thought about!
- Apples: These Grannies’ favourites are a rich source of fibre and remove plaque from the teeth making it brighter. An apple a day, can even keep the dentist away!
- Carrots: They wash away the stubborn stain on the teeth. So the next time you find your teeth on the yellowish side then just grab a bunch of carrots. Have them raw or add them to your salad, this crunchy vegetable is a natural toothbrush.
- Pears: Unlike most of the fruits that are acidic, pears have a high content of water which stimulates saliva production, it zero’s down the acid content of the mouth which causes tooth decay.
- Strawberries: Strawberries, especially the ripe ones, are rich with malic acid. It is used as an exfoliation agent to clean the surface of the teeth. They are rich in Vitamin C which helps keep the gums healthy.
- Cucumbers: It is necessary to take care of the root before you even start shaping your teeth. Gums hold the teeth firm. So to get strong teeth it is necessary that you have strong gums. Cucumbers are fibrous; their crunchiness helps the teeth to remove sugar and chemical debris on the teeth. A cool cucumber salad on a warm sunny day already sounds like a bliss, no?
- Sugarless Gum: While sugar gums are an absolute no-no, but sugarless gums are good to clean out the plaque settled on the teeth.
- Clear Liquids: While aerated drinks including the diet ones can take away your smile, fresh juices work wonders for teeth.
- Cheese: Cheese contains casein, a protein that reduces loss of enamel on your teeth. Why would you want to miss out on a good source of calcium after all?
- Bananas: Bananas are rich in minerals and vitamins like magnesium, potassium, and manganese that help to whiten the teeth. To create a better effect you can take the inside of a banana peel and gently massage your teeth in circular motion. This might sound crazy but it is an in-house teeth whitening technique.
