Stepped out in the market and there are tons of beauty products that you can choose from. Some you need and some you don’t. Yet they are all advertised as “must-haves” and “can’t-live-without”, you needn’t believe them all. But more often than not, buying such “beauty” products just becomes a part of the routine. A day cream, a night cream, a moisturizer, a hair serum, the ever important hair mousses, gel, a foundation in matt and one in shimmer. Of course who can live without the bronzers, lipsticks (in at least a couple of shades, the perfect eye shadow and that beautiful hand cream? Not to forget mini versions of most of these for every handbag so that there is never a shortage when this stuff is absolutely required! Then there are toiletries, wax, razors, q-tips, cotton makeup removal pads, bath salts and oils for those luxury day spent indoors. Isn’t it sometimes hard to just keep a track of all of these?

Does-your-skincare-shelf-need-decluttering

It is important to keep the products updated according to the changing weather and your schedule (of going out or not). So how do you declutter this kind of a skincare shelf? Read on, sister:

Dates:
The most important part of your skincare regime must be to keep only the products that are within its expiry date. Using expired skincare could actually do far more damage than the benefit that the product may have offered you throughout its lifetime. Toss whatever you have not used in over a month.

Seasonality:
If a product was specifically meant to be used in the summer and the season is over then getting rid of it seems like a better idea than storing it for a full year and accidentally using an outdated product. Better still, buy small packs of the skincare stuff that is to be used for a short duration. Sample packs of makeup are available that are a bliss to store, use and then throw.

Segregation:
Do not put all of these items in one shelf! Yes, that makes it hard to declutter and even harder to use all the products that are meant to be used. Who can find thing all stuffed in one shelf. Organize your wardrobe to have a few shelves dedicated to skincare products and divide them according to type. Even better is to further organize each shelf according to product types and your daily usage of the same. Bit much? Didn’t think so either!
